Aligning with People

Hello and welcome.

I’m Gwen Hammons, the President and Founder of The Inner Alignment, Co. I’m honored that you’ve made your way here. Story time!

Let me introduce you to the divine creation of The Inner Alignment, Co.

Business has always had my heart. It’s such a fascinating thing and it drives the entire world. In my undergrad days, I studied business management at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. Post graduation, as many business lovers do, I began to climb the corporate ladder, and recognized a lot of things within the corporate culture that took away from my life instead of adding to it. I was looking for more autonomy and flexibility, so I stepped out into the entrepreneurial world to pursue a career selling Real Estate. The concept of The Inner Alignment, Co. was budding at this time, without me even knowing it.

Within a year of making the jump into my Real Estate career, my determination, motivation and passion drove me to being a top producing agent. My extremely successful career continued for years. However, I was riddled with stress, anxiety and extreme burn out. I pride myself so deeply on my work ethic that it was hard to throw the white flag up and admit I needed to center myself before I could be of service to other people.

The physical, emotional and spiritual decline that tagged along with my burn out forced me to look at my situation and to ask myself, “is there more to life than this?” The answer can't be to not work, so I decided to take an adventure and go figure out what that answer looked like for me. I packed my bags and went on a two-month sabbatical to Costa Rica.

This one leap of faith changed my life forever.

Connecting with the locals, hearing their stories, and watching their way of life struck a nerve in my heart.  I noticed the locals were very calm in their day-to-day endeavors. There wasn’t performance stress, anxious discussion around work, or a dialogue that would encourage over work and burn out to attain happiness or success. Everyone connected on a much deeper level, that felt simple, honest and pure.

The conversations I had while traveling somehow revolved around the environment and society of America's work culture. People from around the world asked me why the culture is the way that it is and why Americans stress themselves out so badly. You don't know what you don't know until you realize there’s things that you don't know! And, I didn't know the rest of the world doesn’t operate under the same work expectations and culture we do, in America.

The do more, be more, and faster culture is a silent killer of the mind, body, and spirit. The people I met along my travels taught me how to calm my nervous system through meditation, breathwork, yoga, a balanced diet, and being mindful of my emotions! The gift of life without impeding stress dictating my every move, is something that I’m passionate about sharing with the world.

Aligning With Purpose

Focusing on my mindfulness made me a more conscious, creative, thoughtful, connected, empathetic, and fulfilled person. This is what I want for everyone. We do not have to live in a constant state of stress. Becoming mindful of yourself, your life, and the people around you changes your entire world, inside and out.

Removing stress empowered me to tap into my heart space and create from a place of innovation. Thus, The Inner Alignment, Co. was created.

Mindfulness helped me see that I can add to this world in an authentic and collaborative way. It is more than possible to work, be happy, and personally fulfilled…all at the same time. Mission accomplished!

One last thing that I want to share about my lessons from this trip is that we have such an incredibly fruitful foundation for success in the United States. We have opportunities that do not exist in other places. These opportunities paired with a mindful approach to nurturing a collaborative and consciously innovative workplace creates endless possibilities for a beautiful future.

I’m thankful for this soulful journey and look forward to empowering others through creativity and mindfulness.

Thank you for joining me on this beautiful journey.
